The hypogeum, which is rather articulated for its small dimensions, was once connected to a Roman villa situated above and from which it had taken advantage of the villa’s hydraulic system and foundations.

From the archaeological material collected from the area, including an inscription mentioning a presbyter, it is possible to suggest that the cemetery was in use towards the middle of the fourth century.
