Description

An overall reading of the site of San Sebastiano outside the walls in Rome. From the earliest settlements to the dawn of our age, to the installation of the Christian catacomb; hagiographic notes on the figure of s. Sebastiano is the path followed by scholars to get to know the monument. Below is a detailed description of the most interesting and significant cores such as the area of the piazzola with three mausoleums (of Clodius Hermes, of the Innocentiores and of the Ascia), or the "triclia": a portico delimited by a wall, on which they were deciphered hundreds of graffiti with invocations to the apostles Peter and Paul, who venerated here, around 250.
